L’Institut Paoli-Calmettes et le Ruijin Hospital (RJH) ont conclu un partenariat de 10 ans visant à mener ensemble des initiatives communes !
Dans le cadre de cette collaboration, l’IPC mettra à disposition son expertise, son savoir-faire ainsi que des transferts de technologie pour soutenir les activités du RJH dans le domaine de l’hématologie et de l’oncologie, notamment la leucémie, le lymphome, le myélome, la transplantation de cellules souches hématopoïétiques, l’immunothérapie cellulaire, l’immunologie et les tumeurs solides.
Un axe de recherche collaboratif original sur la senescence s’appuyant sur les forces et expériences cliniques et biologiques existantes dans les deux centres sera ouvert.
Ensemble, l’IPC et le RJH entreprendront des études de recherche clinique comprenant :
- > Des études axées sur les besoins des patients
- > Des recherches translationnelles visant à aller au-delà des standards de la recherche clinique, dans le but de maximiser l’efficacité des diagnostics et des traitements des maladies hématologiques et oncologiques, tout en favorisant l’innovation.
- > A terme l’élaboration D’études de phase précoce pour le développement de nouveaux médicaments
Les deux institutions collaboreront également sur des programmes de recherche fondamentale portant sur :
- > Les mécanismes de la maladie, les biomarqueurs et les objectifs de développement de nouveaux médicaments, y compris dans le domaine de la médecine traditionnelle chinoise
- > La recherche en immunologie et en oncologie, incluant la surveillance immunitaire.
- > La médecine translationnelle des maladies hématologiques et oncologiques.
- > Le développement de nouveaux médicaments.
De plus, l’IPC et le RJH s’engagent dans la recherche socio-économique, notamment sur l’analyse de la qualité de vie, l’impact des différents systèmes de santé sur la survie et les aspects socio-économiques, ainsi que les soins intégrés pour les populations vieillissantes, notamment celles atteintes de cancer.
Chaque année, des rencontres scientifiques seront organisées tour à tour à Shanghai ou à Marseille pour promouvoir la collaboration via l’échange de connaissances, de nouveaux développements, la revue des projets en cours et de nouveaux programmes de recherche potentiels afin de développer les rencontres entre jeunes médecins et chercheurs !
Enfin l’IPC accompagnera l’éducation médicale et la formation de médecins spécialistes et de chercheurs du Ruijin Hospital en prodiguant un véritable programme de formation au sein de l’IPC en dispensant une formation clinique au cours de la première année du partenariat : trois professionnels médicaux des services d’Hématologie/Oncologie/USI du RJH participeront à la formation sur une période d’au moins 12 mois.
De la deuxième à la cinquième année de l’accord, un maximum de 5 professionnels de la santé pourront être accueillis et formés par l’IPC.

Partnership between Institut Paoli-Calmettes, the Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai and Jiao Tong University School of Medicine
The Institut Paoli-Calmettes (IPC) and the Ruijin Hospital (RJH) have entered into a 10-year partnership to jointly conduct common initiatives!
As part of this collaboration, IPC will provide its expertise, know-how, and technology transfer to support RJH’s activities in the field of hematology and oncology, including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, cell immunotherapy, immunology, and solid tumors.
A novel collaborative research axis on senescence will be opened, leveraging the existing clinical and biological strengths and expertise of both centers.
Together, the IPC and the RJH will undertake clinical research studiesincluding:
👉 Early-phase studies for the development of new drugs
👉 Patient-focused studies
👉 Translational research aiming to go beyond standard clinical research, to maximize the effectiveness of diagnostics and treatments for hematologic and oncologic diseases, while fostering innovation
👉 eventually, the development of early-phase studies for the development of new drugs
The two institutions will also collaborate on fundamental research programs focusing on:
👉 Mechanisms of disease, biomarkers, and drug development targets, including in the field of traditional Chinese medicine.
👉 Immunology and oncology research, including immune surveillance.
👉 Translational medicine of hematologic and oncologic diseases.
👉 Development of new drugs.
In addition, IPC and RJH are committed to socio-economic research, including analysis of quality of life, the impact of different healthcare systems on survival and socio-economic aspects, and integrated care for aging populations, particularly those with cancer.
Scientific meetings will be organized alternately in Shanghai or Marseille each year to promote collaboration through the exchange of knowledge, new developments, review of ongoing projects and potential new research programs to develop meetings between young doctors and researchers!
Finally, IPC will support medical education and the training of specialist doctors and researchers from the Ruijin Hospital by providing a comprehensive training program at the IPC, offering clinical training during the first year of the partnership: three medical professionals from the Hematology/Oncology/ICU departments of the RJH will participate in the training for at least 12 months.
From the second to the fifth year of the agreement, a maximum of 5 healthcare professionals can be hosted and trained by the IPC.
